Academic AdvisingWe help you decideEarly College academic advisors are available to help you make the best decisions about your UAEC course schedule. During the registration period, students submit an Academic Planning Guide - a document that gives us information on your high school curriculum, your extracurriculars, and the Early College course(s) you would like to take. UAEC academic advisors review your Academic Planning Guide and approve your course registration for each term in which you register. Early College courses meet UA general education requirements, and may complement or supplement your high school AP/IB course of study. Students are encouraged to take the most rigorous course of study at their high school of record. Students must complete their UAEC courses within the term for which they are registered within a UA designated semester. Generally, fall and spring terms are 16 weeks in length. Summer term is 10 weeks. Depending on the term, students may take anywhere from three to nine hours (1-3 UAEC courses). Students should carefully consider their high school academics, extracurriculars, part time jobs, and other commitments when deciding how many courses to take during a term. Students choose whether or not to take UAEC courses each term. A maximum of 30 hours may be earned in Early College. Students who complete 17 hours in Early College may be eligible for admission without submitting ACT/SAT scores. See our sample schedules
