  • I will graduate from the University of Alabama in 2010.
  • During my time as an undergraduate, I did an internship at Alabama Heritage Magazine, served as a teaching intern in an Introduction to Psychology class, and worked at Hoole Special Collections Library on campus. As a graduate student, I worked for a semester for UA Digital Libraries.
  • Academic/University honors : 2008 Outstanding Scholarly Essay Award (English Department), Phi Beta Kappa, Graduated summa cum laude in 2008.
  • During my free time, I enjoy playing music (mainly guitar) and writing.
  • Before returning to UA to pursue a Master’s degree, I enjoyed writing for Planet Weekly, a Tuscaloosa entertainment/arts publication.
I'm thrilled to be a Peer Coach because of both the technology of the UA Early College program and the ambitious students that the program tends to attract. I love how online classes can provide college coursework even to those who are not physically on campus. I'm therefore very excited to be a part of a program that makes use of such technology. Another benefit of being a Peer Coach is working with the high school students who participate in UA Early College. It's a great experience to work with students who are so driven and ambitious that they seek to earn college credit before graduating high school. As a Peer Coach, I look forward to helping these students adjust to and succeed in UA Early College.
