You want the best for your students. They depend on you for advice and guidance. The University of Alabama wants the best for your students too. You are an important step to a student making the decision to participate in UA Early College.

We offer multiple Gateway options for you and your students:

  • On-campus Gateway Session
  • Virtual (online) Gateway Session
  • Customized Gateway Day - The Customized Gateway option allows you to bring your students to campus to start their Gateway course, take an organized campus tour, and have lunch with current UA students.
In the UAEC 200 Gateway Course, students will learn
  • How to navigate eLearning & myBama
  • Library research skills
  • Time management
  • Freshman writing skills (proper citations, avoiding plagiarism, etc.)
  • College communication & email etiquette
  • And most importantly, how to be a successful college student!
Characteristics of Successful Early College Students
  • Self-motivated
  • Computer literate
  • Committed to pursuing the most rigorous curriculum available. We encourage our students to use Early College to complement and supplement the AP/IB options already available to them.
